Ever since I began my college career, I knew I wanted to be in a sorority.
When someone thinks of greek life, they almost always associate it with the social aspect of going out and partying, but that really never interested me. For me, I admired the idea of sisterhood and truly loved the idea of having a forever support system comprised of strong independent and influential women.
It’s wasn’t until I was introduced to Fredonia’s chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota, that I found exactly what I was looking for.
Sigma Alpha Iota is an international professional music fraternity for women. Yes, it’s still considered a fraternity because it is that old! You do not need to be a music major in order to join SAI! As long as you’ve taken one or more music classes, you’re all set! SAI provides the sisterhood I’ve been longing for. Being a professional music fraternity is a serious added bonus too! I’m still new and still learning, but I sincerely cannot wait to learn and experience all of the things Sigma Alpha Iota has to offer in regards socially, academically, and professionally.
Sincerest thanks to our MIT mom this semester, Madeline, for always being there and helping us along the way. I absolutely love my MIT class and am so thankful to be standing amongst such an inspiring group of women! I’m definitely going to miss them this summer!
With love and roses,
